Cancellation & Refund Policy
Effective September 15, 2026
MUDDY provides individualized career strategy, research, analysis, writing, and positioning services. Because the work is customized to each client, refund eligibility depends on whether customized work has begun and how much work has already been performed.
Payment Structure
The 30-Day MUDDY Engagement is offered at the stated price in effect at the time of purchase or agreement.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing:
Fifty percent of the engagement price is required to reserve the engagement.
The remaining fifty percent is due before final release of the completed deliverables.
Additional services or work beyond the included scope may require a separate fee. Any additional charge will be discussed before that work begins.
Cancellation Before Customized Work Begins
If you cancel before MUDDY begins individualized research, analysis, strategy, writing, or other customized work, amounts paid may be refunded less any nonrefundable payment-processing fees.
Cancellation After Customized Work Begins
Once individualized research, analysis, strategy, writing, or other customized work begins, the portion of payment attributable to work already performed is nonrefundable.
Any refund determination will account for the work completed and services already provided at the time the cancellation request is received.
Cancellation by MUDDY
If MUDDY must cancel an engagement and cannot complete the agreed services, the client will receive an appropriate refund for services not provided.
Client Delays
The engagement depends on timely responses, reviews, and decisions from the client.
Client-caused delays, extended non-responsiveness, or delayed decisions:
May affect what can be completed during the 30-day engagement
Do not automatically pause or extend the engagement
Do not automatically create a right to a refund
MUDDY will communicate material changes to an agreed timeline whenever reasonably possible.
Unused or Unreserved Pursuits
The three included Pursuits must be completed or reserved within the 30-day engagement.
A Pursuit reserved by Day 30 may be completed afterward only for the opportunity or approved replacement associated with that reservation. Unused and unreserved Pursuits do not roll forward and are not eligible for a refund.
Closed or Changed Opportunities
Job postings may change or close at any time.
Once a Pursuit is delivered, the client should apply within 48 hours whenever reasonably possible.
If the posting closes within that 48-hour window before the client has a reasonable opportunity to apply, MUDDY will rework that included Pursuit for a comparable replacement opportunity identified during the active engagement.
If the client waits longer than 48 hours and the posting closes or materially changes, the Pursuit is considered fulfilled. It does not automatically restart, create an additional Pursuit, or qualify for a refund.
Career Outcomes
Payment is for the professional services and deliverables provided by MUDDY. It is not contingent on recruiter responses, interviews, offers, compensation, promotions, hiring timelines, or employment.
The absence of a particular career outcome does not create eligibility for a refund.
How to Request a Cancellation

Include your name and enough information to identify your engagement. MUDDY will review the status of the work and respond with the applicable cancellation and refund determination.
Client Agreement
This page provides MUDDY’s general cancellation and refund policy. Each client also receives The Fine Print, which establishes the specific scope, timing, payment terms, responsibilities, and conditions governing the engagement.
If this policy conflicts with a signed client agreement, the signed client agreement controls.
